Because I spend half the year in the United States and half in South Africa, shipping can get tricky.

 

As a result, I’ve made the decision to store all of my available stock at my studio in the United States (US), which means anything you buy directly from the Stone Cicada Studio store will be shipped from the state of Mississippi. From the US, I ship both domestically and internationally.

 

However, I also create while I’m in South Africa. To make sure you have an opportunity to view and purchase those pieces, I'll list such new artwork on a separate (forthcoming) page of the website with pricing. If you wish to purchase any of it, please email me at stone.cicada.studio@gmail.com to inquire about domestic or international shipping options/costs from South Africa.

 

The shipping policy information below pertains to customers who live in the United States. Information specifically for international customers living outside the US is listed in the “International Shipping” section at the bottom of the page.

 

General Shipping Information

 

Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to process before it is shipped. This allows processing time for order verification, tailoring, packaging, and getting the item to the shipping company. I package all of my items in bubble or other protective wrap and take the utmost care so your new artwork is safe. I also include a signed certificate of authenticity for original artwork.

Stone Cicada Studio ships Monday through Friday excluding holidays. The shipping cut-off time is 3 pm CST. Orders placed after 3 pm CST will be processed the next business day. All deliveries occur Monday through Friday.

Once processed and given to the shipping company, Stone Cicada will send you a shipping confirmation email with a package tracking number and instructions for checking tracking.

Types of Address

All items shipped via FedEx require a physical address and are for delivery addresses only within the contiguous United States.

Orders shipping to P.O. Boxes, Rural Routes, U.S. military addresses (APO/FPO/DPO), and U.S. territories can only be shipped via the U.S. Postal Service.

​

You may choose either USPS or FedEx for other types of addresses.

Shipping Options and Times

Shipping time refers to the time it takes for items to be shipped from the studio to the destination after order processing. The chart below indicates when you can expect to receive your order depending on the delivery option you choose. USPS First Class mail is the standard option for packages that weigh less than 13 oz (0.369 kg). Any package that weighs more than this will be shipped via the expedited services USPS Priority Mail or FedEx Express Saver.

• Note: Orders shipped to APO/FPO/DPO addresses will arrive in 3-5 weeks, not the standard 3-5 business days.

• Note: USPS First Class Mail service is only for packages under 13 oz (0.369 kg)

Shipping Fees

​

All shipping and handling fees are determined by the size and weight of your total order, the shipping option you choose, and your destination. The chart below is a guideline based on cross-country shipping prices from Mississippi to California, but your actual shipping cost will vary. Accurate estimates will be given during the checkout process.

Note: All orders above $350 will be eligible for FREE SHIPPING within the United States using USPS. Simply choose this option during check-out.

International Shipping

​

Currently, Stone Cicada Studio uses USPS (Priority Mail International and Priority Mail Express International) as a shipping carrier and ships to all countries serviced by USPS. By the end of the year (2018), other shipping options will be added.

All in-stock items will be shipped within 3 business days after your purchase, but the delivery date depends on a variety of factors. Please note that international shipping must include a physical address; shipments to P.O. boxes will not be deliverable by international post.

To ship internationally, be sure to review all of the items you've placed in your shopping cart, select your desired country under the "Shipping To" option, and then click "Checkout." Lastly, follow instructions on the screen to finalize your order.

Further Notes:

• Local taxes and duties depend on destination country and items ordered and are the responsibility of the customer.

• Free, expedited, or other flat-rate shipping and return promotions do not apply to international orders.

• “STONECICADA” or “STONECICADASTUDIO” will be displayed as the merchant of record on the customer’s credit card statements for orders shipped both domestically and internationally.

• At this time, Stone Cicada Studio unfortunately does not have the capacity to offer returns or exchanges for international orders. All purchases are at the discretion and risk of the customer.

 

What are the international shipping rates?

International shipping rates are calculated based on a number of factors, including:

• Desired shipping method

• Merchandise purchased

• Weight and size of item(s)

• Destination country/region

During checkout in the online store, customers will see specific shipping costs based on the above factors once their destination country is selected. The total at checkout will exclude any surcharges that may be imposed by the issuing bank of the credit card you use on transactions with companies domiciled in the United States. It will also exclude any applicable duties, tariffs, value added taxes (VAT), or similar taxes required in your country, all of which will be the customer’s responsibility upon receipt of package in destination country.

In general, international shipping can range anywhere from $37 to $72 (average $50) for USPS Priority Mail International and $46 to $93 (average $65) for USPS Priority Mail Express International. These costs include tracking and up to $200 of package insurance.

 

*Note on Customs: Please note that some countries may hold shipments in customs for a certain amount of time and may charge customs fees for which you will be responsible. Unfortunately, Stone Cicada cannot accept responsibility for packages held in customs. Please check with your local customs agency as no refund will be issued.

 

What is the delivery timeframe for my international order?

Delivery timeframes vary by country, and unfortunately, international delivery dates are only estimates and are not guaranteed. However, packages generally arrive within 6-15 business days after your order ships. The international shipping provider offers the following estimates for all its international deliveries:

• USPS Priority Mail International estimates delivery 6 – 10 business days after shipping.

• USPS Priority Mail Express International estimates delivery 3 – 5 business days after shipping.
