ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi, my name is Jessica Ruthven, and I’m the artist behind Stone Cicada Studio. I’m also a medical anthropologist. I’ve spent the last decade or so exploring the intersection of art and public health and producing academic knowledge about it.

 

But sometimes, I just want to express a small part of what it means to live in our complex and diverse world. 

 

So that’s what I do here. I try to capture notable moments through print and paint and share them with others.
